Vitruvia Skin Texture (NWS pics)

So a while ago this skin texture was posted to Nexus, and I don’t remember what exactly turned me off of it at the time, probably that it didn’t support SoS initially. I don’t remember. Regardless, I happened upon the Nexus’ most favoritest Gary Stu, Grayson, who now sports Vitruvia. It didn’t really sell anything to me; I can say this here on a blog no one visits, but he is probably THE most generic-looking hero archetype (which is great because it goes well with his “tee-hee, I’m totes average looking u guise but I’m actually the most prettiest”…wife? Concubine? I don’t know. They’re awful and those stories are awful. There, I said it, and I’m not sorry.

Anyway, regardless of any milquetoast literary aspirations held by Grayson’s puppeteer, I was inspired to check out Vitruvia. And there certainly is an SoS version now, if there wasn’t before, and I thought, hey, let’s try it out on my Rei Ginsei. I was pleasantly surprised! And I think I’ve finally found my perma-skin for men. Complete Male Overhaul (which is now hidden for some reason) is great and all, but it didn’t really rock my world. So for the longest time I’ve been using urshi’s Smooth Body Textures and Fine Face Textures, which work okay together, but still have a noticeable seam at the neck. But this stuff, this Vitruvia stuff? I likes.

For my own personal tastes I’m going to see if I can make it compatible-ish with FemFeet Redesigned (I try to do that will all my skin textures ’cause I don’t like juggling), as well as lighten the body hair a bit and get Bad Dog Hoodie schlongs working with it. The three stock schlong options are covered by Vitruvia, but I’m an uncut kinda gal.

Also probably going to replace the speculars with blank maps because I’m noticing I’m just really not that into them anymore for whatever reason. At least where Rei and Zephyr are concerned.

In any case, here’s some Rei pics showing off his new textures. There’s nothing nasty going on but these are pretty NWS so. Use discretion.

Hey Refurb, I got BD hoodies working with Vitruvia. Just a little copy paste (replace BD's human_p0_color.dds with Vitruvia's Smurf diffuse..) and then paint the, er, aperture on the new BD diffuse. 10 minutes.

(obviously you will blend layers and do a better job than me but the spot that needs touch up is tiny)

Yeah I got it working, I just hadn't taken a look at the files yet when I wrote this πŸ˜›

Legit good to know, though. I'm literally so stupid I was lamenting all these texture mismatches with it while Photoshop was right over there…

Hmmm, might give this texture a try to see what happens with my character. I actually use the same skins you do for my characters. (smooth body texture and fine face) I'm very paticular about my characters faces and what details I'm looking to be preserved. I'll see if this texture might do something, thanks for the heads up though yeah I prefer clean shaven as well and idk how to fix that. (lack Photoshop) keep you posted.

Edit: Welp that was a nope lol. Your characters definitely rock this skin but it murders the faces of mine lol. Oh well I'm still quite happy with fine faces and smooth body so all is good.

Oh! Forgot to note–as you'll see when you get into the diffuse map, Vitruvia uses a big fuzzy black line to obscure the schlong mesh join. So making the body hair lighter is difficult, unless you want to run a lighter patch down the belly into it.

Sorry, I have no idea how to get blogger to notify ME when a comment is made lol I wasn't ignoring you. I'm glad you're liking the skin, and also how it looks on Rei-Rei πŸ˜‰ It's definitely my go-to now, since I've had time to break it in properly.
