So we don’t know if it’s the cause of the migraines for sure, but an aneurysm was found in the place they tend to occur. I was in surgery yesterday to take care of the problem with some new futuristic thing that’s supposed to be a lot safer and effective than the other two methods, and effectively kills the aneurysm rather than simply preventing a leak or a rupture. The reason for the uncertainty, though, is aneurysms don’t usually cause symptoms until they burst (to be clear since this is a common misconception, the aneurysm is the swollen blood vessel/artery itself; the dangerous thing people talk about when they say “having an aneurysm” is when said aneurysm bursts and causes bleeding; I was not in the latter stage). But we will see. In any case, better to address a problem like this and eliminate something really bad and still have migraines rather than the alternative.
So I’m a bit headachey; they’re weaning me off the good stuff now, but of course having to do backflips trying to find meds that don’t mess with my psychiatric ones :V Think they’re gonna settle on that Tylenol with codeine.
Current plan is to have me out by Monday morning, although my dear neuro is not known for his expediency on discharges (it was a Monday morning I was supposed to be discharged after he rebuilt by spine and I was there til 5pm 😐 ). But y’know we’ll see. Food’s good here. They have rainbow ice pops and honestly that’s all I need!
