Hey guys, so. After a lot of turmoil I’ve been working on things behind the scenes and stuff, so I’d like to take a moment to plug some things!
My presence on Nexus is minimal, at best. On Discord you can find mod previews, screenshots, and other fun things, PLUS you can submit your own screenshots, which is something past users have done when they felt too shy to expose their work to Nexus. There’s even a voice chat room accessible to anyone! My server is a safe space, no judgment, and all are welcome, even all my lurkers! So if that’s all you want to do, is to pick up bits of Furb-related mod news and not chat, that’s fine! Plenty do it, and honestly I think that’s the best way to go for items too small for a blog post.
Lots of people have asked me to make tutorials for various things, and I thought it was about time to start.
The format will start as a series, helping you build a mod from start to finish, focusing on the fundamentals and skills you’ll need to make any mod! I aim for this to be as hands-on as a video can be, a Bob Ross sort of thing where I very much encourage you to follow along and really get into it so that not only will you learn a thing or two, but you’ll have something of your very own to show for it!
I’ve got a teaching background, and one of my big things is information retention, which is something not ever really addressed in a lot of tutorials. So hopefully I can make some sort of mark with this, and hopefully I can help people grow more independent. Because really, independence is a great thing, and it’s great when you find another tutorial and know exactly where the presenter is starting from.
After that series, there will be other tutorials based on requests I’ve had. I’ll be funneling this through my Patreon – THE VIDEOS WILL BE FREE DON’T WORRY – both because I need to draw more attention to it, and I think it would be neat to encourage people to, like, drop a dollar in the bucket to vote on the subject of the next video. Does that sound like something you’d want to do?
The first video will be a little while in coming due mostly in part to my microphone casually deciding not to work sometimes. Excuse me, the Mbox. Mic is good. Luckily my husband is a sound engineer with a lot more experience with the Mbox and computers so hopefully I’ll have that resolved sooner rather than later.
But in the meantime, that’s something to look forward to!
In the near future…
Mini-Mod Tuesday will appear at its regularly scheduled time, featuring wings! Static wings, but wings, nonetheless, to help shrink the dearth of neat screenshot-ready wingalings!
Also probably theme changing because damn this genericness is bothering me. lol I know this comes not nearly long enough after the last change, but man… I am sorry though. Still searchin’ for muh brand.
I think there was something else, but I forgot. Oh well!
